ARJUNA, in Hindu mythology, a semi-divine hero of the Mahabharata. He was the third son of Pandu, son of Indra. His character as sketched in the great epic is of the noblest kind. He is the central figure of that portion of the epic known as the. Bhagwad-gila, where he is represented as horrified at the impending slaughter of a battle and as being comforted by Krishna.
